You are like matter, everywhere and everything
You are like matter, everywhere and everything.
In all the living and non-living.
The hot fire and cold ice,
the sunset and sunrise,
the sweet and sour
of cherry pies and limon-limes
placed on a plate of empty space.
Every flavor I taste and eat.
And the smell of tiger lily
in the garden across the street.
You are the air I need to breathe
that fills my lungs with oxygen I need.
The beginning to every end,
a binding between a cover and its book
that holds the story together.
You are the lips,
and the meaning behind every kiss.
The hands I wish to hold,
and the heart I wish I had
and the courage I don't have.
Rain from a thunderstorm
and its humidity in the air.
The light and heavy
of the rain's down pour.
Every grain of sand on an ocean floor
surrounding a city of growing corral.
You are the victory of a battle,
of a war between love and hate
causing laughs and cheers,
pride, desgrace,
smiles and tears.
The brain that wants to forget,
but the memories that it wants to keep.
You are the highest mountain,
and the highest peak.
Water in river flowing downstream,
from land and down to the sea,
Gravity that holds Earth together
placed in the universe that goes on forever.
The spiders you hate to fear
and your stuffed animal penguin you love so dear.
You are matter, that matters to me.
You are everywhere and everything I feel or see.
