You either get owned by it, or you laugh at it.
I relish in the dark which doth cast,
a black shadow that appears so fast,
Its cold dark freezes the air around,
Preventing the reception of any sound,

My body sinks into the hazy deep,
My soul as a trophy it wants to keep,

I whip my head back casting a smile,
It will only have me for a little while,

I know this dark and I know it well,
Inside me also it doth live and dwell,

But it cannot trick or defeat me,
Because to me I can plainly see,
That the spawning of this thing,
Can be snuffed to mere nothing,

With the brightness of my light,
I cast this darkness out of sight.

It may appear again one day,
But its voice will never say,
The words it wishes to spout,
For I know what they are about,

The cold now dissipates around,
What was lost is now found,

The shadows now are mundane,
And their essence does not contain,
The animate traces of that cold dark,
But one day they may leave their mark.
