I lose my notebook.
Appease me
All I ask is a reasonable explanation
We traveled whenever my legs could take us
Seasons changed
Yet your presence was always consistent
In my sake of canvas
I know sometimes we shared coffee
I digested
You absorbed
You never once told me to quit smoking
Even though,
I am positive I have ashed on you many a time
I always talked
You were a great audience
But now
You are gone
I can't imagine how far wire spiraling will get you
I am dying to know
Who is loving your plastic red cover
that holds our conversation
If you told them
you would enjoy their handwriting
to be as rough as mine
have they asked you to divulge
My name after hearing my voice
echo upon your pages
they have better not...
straightened the bent spine
that is a beloved characteristic of you
I forgive that you have stayed
everyone needs a slutty era in their lifetime
but I miss you
My canvas sack
also misses you rubbing against the zipper
you, minx, you
All I know is,
no matter who holds you dearly
captivated in our love affair-
we are only products of one another.
