Looking for my ancestors
I walked through the graveyard in the oldest city
I looked for my people who died here long ago
They were calling softly to me through the spaces of the ages
I knew that I would find them though how I could not know

They seek for me to baptize them through mighty priesthood power
They want to live in God's Temples and believe it is their hour
How can I tell them I'm not prepared or that I cannot go
When what they ask is so simple how can I tell them no

I'll go and do what I must do so my whole family can be saved
I'll find out when they lived and died and just where their bodies lay
Though I may not remember them from the existence before time
They know me and I promised them that I would choose the right

Someday I will walk in peace- the shadows stalk no more
The ancestors of my fathers turn their faces towards the Lord
and I will be a better soul knowing that what I've done
is give my loved ones everlasting life through Heavenly Father's only begotten Son
