Something my alter ego wrote to myself

You hear screams from those who can't be heard

Only you can hear the unspeakable word

You question what went wrong when it was your heart

You wonder why since it was whole in the start

In the mirror you don't like what you see

All you ever really wanted was to be free

Bound and confined to the rules you stick too

Who knows how much more you have to go through?

You consume it all & they expect you not to break

When everyday the façade you wear is nothing but fake

You go home, no one's there and you're all alone

That's when it's official your on your own

At school, no one says hi as you walk through the hallway

All you do is make sure your hurt is not on display

What happens to you now that you pushed everyone away?

Do you feel the pain as your heart begins to fray?

For the ones who promised, their still there

The only question is exactly where?

You look and beside you is your own shadow

Realize when you're alone; you still have yourself and so

You've been tormented by your demons way too long

It's time to change the record and play a different song

The demons will fix their wings so they can fly

When they are gone, there's no need to cry

All of that anger, sadness, and fear will all disappear

When it does, I'll be waiting right here.
