No, it's not like Juno or The Secret Life. There's a different twist on things.
"Wow, Esther. You sure are getting fat."
I stopped, holding my lunch tray with both hands. I looked down at my stomach. then back up at her, wearing my signature "surprised" face. I seemed to be using that face a lot now that I was in high school.
She laughed. "I'm just kidding!" She said, wrapping her arm around my waist. She patted my side. "You're so senstivie!" She effortlessly flipped her long blonde hair back, as if brushing off the very comment itself. Oh, sure she was kidding.
It was funny. I've known all along, and yet only now had people started noticing. And the more I thought about it, the more it made me curse that day.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fourteen-year-old Esther Pyre lived life as it came to her. Doing the right thing was always the one and only option, but with on-coming family troubles, new pressures, and lots of changes, nothing seems to be going her way. Of course, being raped would also put a damper on anybody's day.
Or week. Or next nine months.
What was intended to be an ordinary visit to her friend's house turned out to be much more than Esther bargained for. She and David Lornfeld had been friends and neighbors ever since their childhood, until David moved away. With so much in life going on around them, finding time for each other was difficult - but now that they both were starting the same high school, getting together seemed to be less difficult.
But she had no idea what was about to happen to her.
Who would've guessed that David's father was a child molester?
Too weak to fight back and too scared to tell anyone, Esther kept the encounter a secret - until the evidence started to show. With her family in total shock, her grades plumetting, and her lies becoming transparent, life was going nothing but down-hill. How on earth could she ever look at David - someone she had always felt strongly for - the same way again? And how could she even bear to see his father? Join Esther in her journey of over nine months of torture, temptation, anorexia battles, and emotional trauma in For Life
