A boy experiencing the worst type of unrequited love...
There
Right there, asleep
Beautiful in every way
Intimidating
Inviting
Unattainable and out of reach
Yet so close she is
And I can't resist the agony any longer, so
I reach out and touch what I can't own
I pull closer what I can't reach
I kiss who I can't have
And for that brief second
Everything felt complete
Everything felt in place
Everything felt right
But I was wrong
To touch
To kiss
To love
Someone that I can't have
So when she wakes
With storm-colored eyes
With hair the color of milk chocolate
With a beauty unmatchable
And asks me what she missed
With the smile of her friend
With the smile of her trusted one
With the smile of her cousin
And the pain of a lover
I'll respond
Nothing much
