This is a poem about the innocence of youth.
The things I see, so far away,
Are just like splattered dreams
For all of life’s surprises,
Are just not what they seem.
I look out of my window,
And stare into the sky,
And watch the little children
All go skipping by.
I try to holler out to them,
To tell the bitter truth.
For they can’t see that
What they have
Is the innocence of youth.
