A poem about scorned love.
I gave her a rose
She threw it the the crows
She said I wasn't worthy
That the rose wasn't earthly
I fell to my knees
and I cried my pleas
I arose to my toes with an unwanted rose
An unwanted rose
Began to decompose
For a love it never knew
although that love was true
It withered and died as I sat there and cried
I told her how I felt
She hit me below the belt
She loved me once before
Now I'm standing behind the door
there's someone in my place
She hit me with the mace
She turned up her nose
at an unwanted rose
