Warning to take to heart
In the spring of the year when kings go to war
He lingered he glanced he saw
Then he hungered for her in his heart
Knew it could cost him everything but he pursued her there
He gazed he pounced he took.
Mouth red with the blood of his kill
He sat among the bones of his life
She had cost him everything
Now he'd lie and cheat
In his nostrils the stench of defeat and death
Till his dying breath he'd pay for that day
His hands were stained with blood
Innocent and pure
What had it all been for?
In that time when kings should go to war.
What had it all been for?
Moments of lust and passion nothing more.
In the time when kings should go to war.
