A poem about two friends who stick together through misunderstandings.
FRIENDS

Just as I went my way
I saw two lads just right ahead
and they were caked with clay
yet looked a little too well fed
"This cannot be the way"
this then was what the first one said
"Just come with me I say,
I am your source of daily bread."
"That's the same thing you said,
and a wrong way, we both you led.
I'll not be led astay
so go on counting X,Y,Zed."
"My name is Jay and Jay
and that will make your name Alfred.
We quarrel, yes we may,
but you will always be my friend.
So we'll both lead the way
and thus the right path we will tread."
A friend will always stay
but friends will hear and go to bed.
