My first attempts with the "Event" Poetry Form
3 EVENT POEMS:
December 26, 2008

PHOTO EVENT POEM

Dip the photo in sour cream and chives
bite the ear lobe first off every character in the picture
Taste the oil smear of glazed flesh
Stick it on an envelope
Mail the whole thing away
wipe the sweat off your brow with it when it returns
Wave it over smoke for signalling
Serve pea soup on it and croutons
Drive it around the corner until it falls asleep
Feed it peppercorns and jalapenos for breakfast

RAIN EVENT POEM

Roll the rain up in a tiny ball and stick it in your ear
Rake it from the clouds and plant each drop into the ground like a seed
Climb on it to the sky
Paint it with indigo, alizerins, and cobalts
Pull it out of the clouds like drapes
Spin it like sugar and eat it through a flavor straw
Read to it until the cats and dogs go home and the snoring stops
Stamp on it, shake your fists at it, punch it until it runs off with its tail between its legs

SAND EVENT POEM

Glue it to your hair and call it dandruff
Press it into a gown and wear it to bed
Mix it in a glass with chocolate syrup and drink it
Shove it under your nails
Put it in your shoes and socks for a foot massage
clean your contact lenses with it
Throw black paint on it from shore-to-shore
Break eggs all over it
Bake it into cookies
Play marbles with it
