short and un-sweet
The Last Camel

I crushed a camel in the sand
Far from the hills of Afghanistan.

Ungrounded heel grinds to dust
The blank'ness colored
The black'ness just.
A smoking ash
In the sand--
Fallen to fishers of the land--
All that's at hand, is now regret
Except for this last cigarette.
