Description of a scene i drive past every day, where a road cuts between the woods.
Knife Road.

Colour changing city sprawls
Stretches, tall and wide.
No colour the same.
Ever.

Narrow walkways, it’s twisting paths
Crossroads wide, and beautiful.
Natures brown bollards
Mark the way

Scurrying sounds and breathing
Leaves laugh at the wind
Smell, damp and sweet
Life

Slashes down the steel grey knife
Chemicals mark the serrated edge
Burning torturing. the Knife
Cuts

Golden leaves, years on they yearn.
They long, they stretch, across the blade
Turn green in the sun
Then they fall
Unfulfilled.
