weeping willow crying on her pillow
If I were a weeping willow,
I would paint you with
my tear-like leaves,
until all was covered in my fall.

I would paint you with
nature's autumn palette,
while the wind gently swept
all bare like a sad memory.

My tear-like leaves,
roll and scuttle away
from my bare branches
back to earth and seclusion.

Until all was covered in my fall,
I did not know what I had to lose,
and how it hurt to be left standing alone,
as if I were a weeping willow.
