poem about a relationship
I rid the last traces of him today,

But the smell still lingers

The skin still warm to the touch,

Remembering the better days.

Drowning sorrows in the melodies,

The whispering awaking the meaning again.

Sleep brings back the pain,

Never again I promise.

Dreams resurface and replay,

Like the broken tape to my life.

The soothing returns with the ring of morning,

My hand avoids shutting it off.

The sounds make sense in my distorted head.

The noise, not thinking, shakes my heart.

Turning me right side up again.
