A mute violin yearns to sing
Silent violin,
holding its head
up
to the winds
of melody.

As taffy,
stretching its throat
to the hands
that caress it.

A bow.
Brought to the
center
rubbed,
with delicacy

aching violin throat

yearning
fighting
the empty
noise

praying

screaming

still silent
now
alone
only it and
the wind

silent violin.
