I wrote it because I was bored.
The wind on my face
From the years of the past
Reminds me of memories
Of the summer before last

I would run through the fields
I would jump, I would cheer
But all along
I know it was hiding my fear

When I was tucked into bed
And tried to fall asleep
I curled into a ball
So no monsters would bite my feet

But when the alarm blares
And I wake with a start
I know, with my dreams
I must now part

There are many things in life
That will make you cry with joy
But there are twice as many
That will make you feel like a toy

So as I stand and turn
I say,
“What choices will you be making today?”

For we all know
There is wrong and right
But what if the wrong choice...
Is truly right?
