Will I ever forget her? She was a rock in my life.
R O C K II

The shore is awash with the memories of yesteryears;
As I dip my feet in and think of my laborious past,
A long-forgotten reminiscence surfaces upon my mind,
And I remember you, Nikita.

My first-desired woman, my first-kindled love,
Signalled by the hormones of youth and virility,
You fanned my emotions to dream of you beside me
And then, you loved me back.

I thought you a ROCK of sustenance to nourish me,
A bed of roses on which to lie and perhaps sleep,
A mount of experiences and enjoyment
And, a redeemer of my soul.

You sustained me and gave me energy
To expand my horizons and explore anew -
Unperturbed areas of my mind and body.
I felt a frisson of joy pass through my soul.

Today, as the tide runs out and sand shifts beneath my toes,
I remember you and mourn the days and nights
When I held you in my hungering arms and
And deliriously breathed you in.

The rock-like stability of my past has passed,
I have changed my life several times since you,
I sit on a rock, wetting my feet and mulling things over,
And I try to forget you, Nikita.
