what happens to you
                THAT DAY

What do I do with these poems I write.
They should be in front of your son tonight.
One combat vet of that Vietnam war,
I scream no dying for lies anymore.

War is money for the very few.
War is death for the rest of you.
Whatever you hear whatever they say,
you'll lose yourself out there that day.

That day you witness the death of a friend,
you will never be the same ever again.
Oh to witness the death that you see.
It will end you like it did me.

Death comes quickly you'll die right away.
When you're standing there on that fateful day.
Your heart will break your mind will snap.
The question is will you ever come back.
