The beauty and innocence of children
Children dancing in the hazy sunlight,
stained glass windows turned kaleidoscope,
brilliant colours lighting beaming faces,
almost too much happiness for us to cope.

Whirling around the room and each other,
becoming a blur as they move at speed.
The adults resemble lumbering giants,
but on these darting fairies they could never feed!

Such love and such laughter filling the house
and the hearts of all within distance to see
And hear the beauty and joy of these spirits,
divine in their ourest simplicity.

Eyes that sparkle in their own firmament,
recreating the cosmos in the glare of the sun,
We adults stand breathless, almost frozen in time,
beholding that magical sense of fun.

They cry when they stumble, hurt themselves when wild.
The Divine becomes a plaything in the smile of a child.
