God is your rock
When you’re down, who’s there to care?
Life at times, can be truly unfair
There I sat on the ground with my head hung down,
Staring at my feet in total defeat
I was at my lowest; I had fallen into despair.

There on my hands and knees,
Begging God to help me please
“Why, I yelled…I was almost to the top”
“And then I fell into a downward flop”
“Why me”, I was broken and weak
All I could do but weep; my tears streaming down my cheeks
I folded my hands in prayer; now humble and meek
“Oh God, I sobbed, where did I go wrong”?

With my face in my hands, I wondered if God hears my pleas.
Hopeless, I wondered…does God really sees?
I pondered what’s going to happen to me…how could this be?
At that very moment, a light appeared right before me
The light reflected a face of a man; I wondered whom could this be?
The light became even brighter

And then I heard a voice, it is a reflection of you
Your prayers, my son, are long overdue
There in the light seven steps appeared
Behold, God’s words etched in the tiers

I am your foundation
And your everlasting salvation
I am your rock;
And the Sheppard of a faithful flock
Follow me my son and you will not stumble upon this rock
For I am Jesus; I am, the stairway to heaven.
