This is a dark piece, specifically - angst and lack of hope. One of my darkest.
Murky

The thunder rumbles, the darkness drips.
I can taste the raindrops
Upon my lips.

I see the echo; I can hear the light...
This trip is solitary;
It’s a cold, cold night.

My eyesight falters, my legs wont walk.
I'm hearing voices,
they've started to talk.

"you'll never get up, you’re in far too deep."
They chant in my head
as I’m trying to sleep.

I pray, "god please let me make it, please lord let me survive."
But prayer is not the answer,
No matter how I always strive.

As dawn faithfully approaches, I raise my weary head.
I look in the mirror
and see I’m still not dead.
