A poetic exploration of the confusion of anger.
The anger burns
deep inside,
the well is overflowing.

A furrowed brow,
clenched jaw;
cracking as face muscles flex.

Breath stuck.
Then spreading pain,
forcing its way through the body.

Trembling;
attempts to control
the waves of unknown hostility.

Piercing alien eyes return your glare,
nails dug into your side,
gripping,
alternative pain.

This isn’t me;
I can’t feel this way.
But the mirror doesn’t lie.
