Poem about the trials of the heart and mind
A Teenager’s Heart

I hate you.  You mess with me.  You say you’re my friend when I want more.  You make me believe there is something more.  I hate you.

I hate you.  You took forever to get to me.  You tease me with your promises.  You want to always be with me. I hate you.

I hate you.  You made me feel vulnerable.  You made me fall for you.  You made me love you.  I hate you.

I hate you.  You stopped calling me.  You don’t look at me anymore.  You are never here.  I hate you.

I hate you. You are with her now.  You broke my heart.  You don’t even care.  I hate you.

I hate you.

I don’t hate you.  You let me go.  You made me see there was a world out there other than you.  You showed me that life isn’t about you.  I don’t hate you.

I let you go.  I forgot about you.  I don’t even remember your name.  You probably hate me.
