Poem pertaining to Winter
WONDERLAND

Wintry winds blow
howl in the night
purging old leaves
falling to the ground
basking in Moonlight
waiting.

Birds perch, sleep
wrapped in nests
bits, pieces, gathered
keep their young warm
as Winter approaches
silently.

Clouds sweep the Sky
moving softly in a dream
watching eyes peek
out of trees
first snow appears
wet.

Nightime walk
through streets
making footprints
feel the stillness
quietness all
around.

Reflect, contemplate
pace gets faster
crunch of steps
stop, fall
snow angels
abound.

Sticking to limbs
ground, sidewalks
covering greenery
in concrete grips
shows no mercy
blizzard.

Ice Age returns
all is frozen within
scenery becomes dull
hard, gray, frigid
as wind sculpts
drifts.

Morning beckons
Sun shines iridescent
ice castles, snow flakes
crystals of white
glittery scenery
wonderland.
