This is a poem that i wrote in the 8TH grade. this is not meant to offend anyone
BOOM! BOOM!
You turn around not knowing the sight your about to behold
You see it yet you don’t believe it
A plane hit one of the twin towers
No wait. Two planes
You dont believe this
All of a sudden it starts snowing
It looks so beautiful
But now you can’t breathe
This isn’t snow, but what is it
Its ashes!
Whats going on
It seems like only minutes but its been an hour
You can start to see the sun
All of a sudden you feel a lump in your throat
The sun was where the towers once stood
Fire trucks come roaring by you
You start to run
You know people need help
And you know it’s your duty
For days and days you help
Then you realize it
You have more to do
Much more

11 months later you’re in a plane
You’re looking down at the ocean
All of a sudden you’re scared
But not of the height
You’re on your way to war
You think of your wife, your kids, your friends
You’re in Iraq and you can’t help but worry
What if you don’t come back for them
What if they need you
You meet a man named Chris
He has no family, no one to write him
Before you know it your best friends
You don’t tell your family about him
You don’t know why

You wake up to hear BOOM! BOOM!
You hear planes
You think of the towers
Are they going to fall again
You realize you’re not in New York any more
You’re at war
Then whats going on
Chris pulls you to your feet and throws you your gun
You run out to see dirt and dust flying.
It gets louder and louder
POP POP POP
You hear the whiz of bullets
And you see the enemy now.
You no what you must do
You start to run
You turn to tell Chris to watch out
But then he falls
You see the look in his eyes as you stop
Fear but yet you can see the love
His eyes close
His soul is set to rest
Everything seems to go in slow motion
Your running and you start to yell
But yet you don’t hear anything
You keep running then you realize you’re in lead
Then blackness
Darker then the midnight sky

You wake up in the hospital room
Your legs are burning
You go to rub them
But there’s nothing to rub
You unsure of what to think
You now remember him
He died
Your look over
You see your wife, your two kids
Then you remember you only have 1 kid
She has had a baby
You ask his name
But you remember you haven’t told anyone
Her reply doesn’t make sense
Chris
