I wrote this a WHILE ago, at about 4 in the morning.
I pace
Down the hall
Past your doorway
Where your light is lit
And I, too, am lit
Set ablaze
And sadly, apart
From you
And your beauty
So lovely
So pure
And I think
As I pace
And I pause
By your door
A moment more
Could it be?
For I can see
A place where we
Would forever be
Set apart
From the world
That separates
Your heart from mine
Negates
Our passion’s fire,
Lit ablaze
By your gaze
You amaze me
Not sometimes,
But every time
I pause
By your door
Linger o’er
The light that’s lit
As you sit
And you think
While I drink
In you and your
Everything
But since there’s a space
Out of place
Interface
Between you and me
What should be
But isn’t
I continue to pace
Down the hall
Past your door
Wanting more
But never will I
Breach
this boundary
But at least
There’ll always be
A place for you
Inside of me
