What's left when love goes?
IN THE COMPANY OF A FAMILIAR STRANGER

If I’d stayed closed,
In shadow coldly posed.
I’d never been exposed.
I’d not need consoled.

You came and filled a place,
And vanished without a trace.
You came and opened a door,
Leaving me worse than before.

Shattered feelings and broken heart.
Feeling lonely and not real smart.
Seeing you now in my mind,
Knowing you came to find.

A critical lost part.
A place for love to start.
A needed missing piece.
A time for neglect to cease.

Feeling again the danger,
Of Love’s familiar stranger.
Alone with pieces and parts,
Of Love’s false starts.
