A crazy family reunion.
A warm June afternoon,
time for fun.
The family reunion,
has now begun.
Cousin Fred,
is sure to be here.
A case of cheap beer,
held tightly in hand.
He will eat all the chicken,
cleaning it clear off the bone.
Don't dare be surprised,
to find him passed out.
That old oak has seen it all.
Aunt Sara used to climb old oaky,
until she had her first child.
Now she's 20 and pregnant,
with number five.
No telling who the daddy is,
lost track several years back.
Can't wait to see Grandmama,
she's the best of them all.
Making my favorite homemade desert,
peach cobbler baked fresh from the box.
Daddy grills the slabs of ribs,
while momma makes the sauce.
Papaw tries to cook,
but only has one good hand.
The other one was frostbitten,
3 reunions back.
