Written for an inspiration
When I dwell on Winter's lonely pace
And recall the paths I used to roam,
I summon up the way the berries taste
While walking through the snow so nearby home.
For now my memory is growing dim
And pictures never stay the same, quaint way
The way those faces seem to get so grim--
I get relief to scatter them away.

But Lo! The seasons change to sunlit skies.
The memories smell sweet throughout the air.
And shadows come in closer towards my eyes--
While I listen to the streetcar's noisy blare.
Still--there is one fact that's 'ere so plain--
Without you--I shall never be the same.
