About depression.
One day I saw my shadow;

it came as a surprise.

At first I didn't notice,

but soon it met my eyes.

One day I found an alleyway,

shadows everywhere.

The place dragged on, getting darker -

it became a scare.

Once I thought I heard a voice,

and I tried to escape.

I couldn't seem to get out;

I thought it must be fate.

The darkness went on and on,

making me truely lost.

Voices came, faint whispers,

all ignored at a cost.

Why did I ignore them?

Sometimes I didn't know.

But as the darkness drew me in,

I just couldn't let go.

I can't get out, I told myself,

It is not my fault.

I felt like I was behind doors,

locking every bolt.

One day I saw my shadow;

I had unlocked the doors.

Sunlight, sunlight, here it was -

I saw the alley's walls.

I heard noise, life and laughter,

voices everywhere.

After the alley's dark silence

it gave me a scare.

I left the alley far behind,

silence, darkness, all.

Sometimes I see my shadow, though,

and it is like a call.
