When at a crossroad, ask and move on
Dear Conscience!
Why do you keep knocking at my door
I’m tied up with my worldly chores
troubling endlessly with your subtleties
dragging ruthlessly to the prosaic facts galore.
Should I resist or oblige?

Dear Innocence!
You are the most precious possession of mine
a bit dim though, like the encompassed glitter
flew with your strength the yonder years
sorting you out of layers must not be difficult.
Should I struggle or transcend?

Dear Me!
The joyous tide and courage sans fear of failure
the lovely child, a learner but no despair
curious mind always seeking the unknown
a born gypsy, trotting around in his genetic flair.
Should I forget or relive myself?

Dear Prudence!
When I’m down, you show me the way
with happenings of today and promises of morrow
history never teaches a thing until one learns
the joy is for the listener, rest embrace sorrow.
Should I ignore or listen?

Dear Wisdom!
Stirred from my twilight sleep, there you beckon
I fathom the depth of myriad experiences
treading time’s horizon to the translucent truth
where awareness is eager to melt into sublime confidence.
Should I be asleep or awake?
