PANIC BY SIX
panic, panic
spin, spin
fall, fall
tear drops crawl,
float, float
pound, pound
hear, hear
all the faces snear,
hope, hope
run, run
rain, rain
the dark clouds drain,
echo, echo
sink, sink
hate, hate
let it radiate,
light, light
hurt, hurt
stare, stare
to watch them glare,
push, push
hide, hide
judge, judge
just to make them budge

J. DOE
As I lie here now,
In the dark corners of my mind,
overcast by the harsh shadows of my familiar room.
I realize,
for the first time,
what is to me,
an extraordinarily new concept.
I realize,
maybe,
maybe we aren't so different.
child,
happy,
moving,
adolescent,
withdrawn.
Different lives, different experiences, different families, different friends, different dreams, different goals, different reaction, different people.
Yet, don't we both have all of those things?
Are we not both driven by emotion,
masquerading as logic?
I must accept,
you are as much of a person as i am,
and I ::hesitant:: as you are.
We should be friends,
best friends.
Societies cookie cutter expectations,
build stone walls between us.
I offer my hate for you a shelter within me,
and your contemp for everything I am,
keeps us handcuffed,
at our sides.
In spite of the intrinsic hurt you have caused me,
I would not let you drown.
My life risked to save yours,
to save a soul.
Whose soul?
Nearly a stranger.
Isn't that what makes us so simular?
Prejudice.
I like it. I loath it.
faceless,
nameless,
shameless.
mirrors pry.
You are me,
Just look.
Who am I?
