Contest Entry, which I just made for fun.
Hello, my name is Sammy. Or at least I think that's what these humans call me. It's really hard to tell through this water but it sounds right. I am a goldfish, and this is my story.

When I was born I was placed inside this big tank with a bunch of other goldfish. Not as fun as one might think really. There was one who called himself Bob; he was the oldest of us all. Been in here few about three months, swear that the giant seaweed wasn't going to catch him. He didn't want the humans to take him away. Which was completely understandable, right? Well it would have been, but he was a jerk about it.

"Hey Sammy!" Bob called as he swam over towards me. "I think the humans are about to take you in, Sammy Boy." He laughed, smacking his tail fin against my side.

"Buzz off; they'll catch you before they'll even get close to me." I said blankly, watching as the giant seaweed sank into the water and moved behind him. But Bob was too caught up in my challenge that he didn't even notice.

"They will never, and I mean ever, get..." But the seaweed interrupted his statement by clearly proving him wrong. I laughed as he was pulled out of the water.

"And what did I tell you?" But I regretted it as soon as the words left my mouth. Because there it was again, but looking for me this time. I swam away as quickly as I could, but I just wasn't fast enough. Up I went, into the same plastic bag as Bob.

"See, I told you that you would get caught first." I laughed, bumping up against him.

"Oh, shut up!" He mumbled, upset over his loss.

"Cheer up! It's nothing to be worried about! The humans might feed us!" I teased; glad that for once I had the upper hand.

But he wouldn't respond to me, so I was forced to apologize.
