A satirical poem of Abram and Isaac after the whole sacrifice incident.
Down from the top of the mountain
An awkward silence fell,
Till Isaac turned to his father
And asked ‘what the hell!?’

Abram smiled to his son,
‘It was a test of loyalty and love.
I was told to kill son number one
From a wise man up above’

Isaac’s eyes narrowed as he spoke
‘So you proved today
That you have faith
In a homicidal voice,
I have to say Dad
You’re going mad
That’s a crazy fucking choice!
Having to kill a child
To please something
That fails to exist,
Has made me debate
Your mind’s state
And if your presence is a risk.’

‘But son, faith can go a very long way,
Perhaps walk on water with love so deep…’

‘Or maybe Dad
Creep to my bed
And kill me as I sleep.’

‘How dare you disrespect my religion!
Blasphemy will send you to Hell!’

‘Dad I’d rather dwell
In a fiery Hell
As heaven seems strict and dull.
I think that clouds and lights
Are trumped by whores in tights,
sex, drugs and alcohol.’

‘No son of mine!’ Abram screamed,
‘God turn this sinful child to stone!’

‘Sorry Dad, so it appears to me
I am still of flesh not stone,
I’m sure that we can both agree
That God’s put you through to his answer phone.’
