The Nighttime
It is definitely the night time that resolves
Sets the mind straight and easies those anxious nerves
The soothing blackness calms my darting mind
And I am guided back to my screen to type

With canned Guinness at my side and ragtime in my ear
I, am, with no insecurities, as black is, constant, in a forever changing world
I’d love to cling onto it’s feeling and cup it
Hand it out to anyone who wanted to experience regularity

Though I am tired, yawning and stretching
And though my arms, shoulders and neck feel tired
I feel alive with the company of my music
Knowing that I am alive, typing and existing in the night

Day brings too many people to surface
Too many ideas, too many emotions and far too many interactions
Smiles, tears, poses, jeers and most of all fears
Those are all possible in a world with light

By the way, I thought Ted Hughes’ lost poetry VI and X,
Was terrible, filled with too many words and cliché lines
I hoped for more from a man with iconic status
I cherished Plaths’ face, her head tilted to the side in The Guardian

All the old pubs and notched wooden stools in the world can’t save me now
I am past the point of daylight and enjoyment
I hope that for your sake you’re happy
For only the night time is the right time
