Adapted poetry....see what you think
The Thought behind her Daddy’s Eye

Spun up tight in threads of nylon
t-shirt, the inward sleeping dream intent
Her silent, breathing thoughts begin to flap.

Conspirator of colour and lapping wings that
shave the grain of oaken consciousness.
She claws through waxy residue
Of what was thought immovable: drowning,
Ticking memories, the cotton-wool of His scared-to-breathe ideas

The dream begins, her velveteen transfigured being
Casting moulds on shadows of promises unborn.

Birthing Day

Painting possibilities in gossamer,
She's borne on crimson lashes,
Wind-like in fragility she smudges the unsightly count from
Mother Apathy's neglecting face.

Drums race, crowning over silken threads
The dream carries remnants of smoke and fire
Her gold-encrusted tomb gives way and
Inquest paper shards,
stain glass affirmation, mandrake wings lie murmuring
beautiful and naked on the bloodied floor.

Beginning breathing

Hold and still
Beginnings flicker light upon the shadows
Open staring, chasing
Flitting soot upon the firefly’s wake

Hold and still
The newly-coloured wings,
Slow, breath, like ribcages, spread
Apart, bellows watch as
Rumoured orchestras begin to sing
And time, soft as rosin-dust descends on tables under mighty swinging bows.

Variation on a theme of Flight

Flaps begin the dream, her ribbons of paint-by-number oil
Spring from canvass colonies
Seeding awe-bound privilege
Behind the seer's heart

She gathers and begins to fly
The dream-flag, threading fingers
hide and seek through air,
Hanging colour on the core of beings
Lashes, mouths and boxes wide.
