Via walked into Hugs' basement as he and a few of the other boys got the guns ready. “Hey Hugs.” She called. Hugs waved a handgun over his head in reply “What are you going for today?” She asked, stepping up beside him.

“You know we can't tell you unless you're coming.” Hugs replied lightly.

“So why can't I come?” Via knew the answer, she had gotten the same one for every job in the last four months that she had known the boys.

“You haven't been initiated. The bosses need to know we can trust you, need to know that you won't blab to the labs.”

“I didn't even know about labs until I met you guys.” Via reminded him.

“Yea, but you still won't meet us without your hair dusted.” Hugs reminded her.

“Tushe.”

“Hey, Hugs.” Stripes, a short but muscular guy, called. “I'm not gonna be able to go. Got to go do some stuff.”

“All good.” Hugs called back. “Just tell Claws that he's needed on your way out.”

“Has he ever been on a job?” Via asked as Stripes left the room.

“Nope.”

“Is that usual?”

“Only if the person doesn't care about their status within the Rebels.”

Hugs walked in to the Rebel HQ grinning. “Are you finally going to be able to stay for the celebrations this time?”

“What are we celebrating?” Via asked, closing down the internet which she mucked around on while the guys were on a job.

“The successful completion of a job.”

“I don't know.” Via replied. “Where are we going and who is going?”

“Me, Snake and Sparks.” Hugs replied. “We're going to the MC.”

“I'll have to change first.” Via thought of the gloves she had created with fake finger prints on it so when she went into a club the name 'Sasha' came up. They were completely transparent, a bit like glad wrap, and clung to her hands, covering her own prints.

She had never told the Rebels her real name, or the fact that she could do more than change into a tiger. They hadn't taken her further into the organisation, she knew the group she was with and that was it, so she didn't feel guilty about keeping some things to herself. It did mean that she had to make some things to keep her identity hidden though.

“Of course.” Hugs replied. “Want some help?” He continued, grinning.

Via laughed, she knew he meant nothing of it, he was just a flirt. It was Snake and Sparks who were vying for her attention. “No that's fine thanks. What time do you want to leave?”

“As soon as possible.”

“Oh, look who's just arrived.” Samantha said, a small snear marring her delicate features. “The Rebels. I don't see why we don't just arrest them already.” She lent on the table, the small fox on her shoulder catching the light

“We can't here.” Tye replied. “It's the agreement. Besides they are only suspected, not known.”

“Yea but they have been brought in for so much questioning that between them they are in almost all our case files.” A tall, blond, extremely hot girl with angel wings on her left wrist to represent the snowy owl she could turn into said. “We just never seem to have enough evidence to convict.”

“Angel.” Tye moaned. “I want to get them as much as you, you know that, but there is no point in us ruining our night. We can't do anything at the moment so we may as well enjoy our last night before we have to go back to school.”

“Hey there's a girl with them.” Finn said. He was extremely tall with long, dusty blond hair and misty blue eyes, most would describe him as a surfer though secretly girls thought of him more as the hotter snowboarder. In truth he was both, he loved all outdoor sports. He had a small Thor's Hammer on the back of his knee to show his power over metal. “She's cute.” Samantha hit him on the shoulder. “I didn't say hot or sexy. You are definitely sexy.” He wrapped his long, strong arms around Sam's tiny frame.

Tye looked over his shoulder, the Rebels had never brought a girl to The MC before. She had long, slightly coppery brown hair and wore an extremely short leather skirt and a red boot strap top with a leather jacket. He could see a small tattoo of a cross made out of tiger stripes with a snow flake in the centre on her ankle above three inch, strappy heels. She seemed perfectly at ease with the boys, though appeared to be discouraging a couple of their advances. “She is cute, looks slightly familiar though.” He said. “Does she go to our school?”

“Na,” Samantha replied quickly. “She'd have to be a Mystic, and non dormant, to be that close to Rebels and there are no non-dormant's who aren't in our group.”

“How do you know?” Finn asked.

“I have a nose trained for it.” Samantha grinned, rubbing her specially trained nose against his.

Via fended off the usual advances from Snake and Sparks. If only one had liked her she would probably would have gone out with them, but she didn't want to cause a rift within the group. Sparks complimented her top. “...It could look better though.”

“How?” Via replied lightly.

“It could be lying on the floor.”

Via faked shock. “Well then what would I be wearing?”

Brock snorted into his drink as he scanned the crowd for a prospective partner for the night. Snake had his turn. “Your hair looks really good tonight.”

“Come on Snake, you can do better than that. This isn't even my real hair colour.”

“I'd love to see your natural hair colour.” Snake said.

“Really?” Via asked, slightly board, she had heard this line several times.

“Yea, spread out over a pillow while you lie na...”

“Come on guys.” Brock interrupted. “Leave Kitten alone. She isn't going to sleep with ether of you. You'd think that the message would have penetrated their thick skulls some time in the last four months, wouldn't you.” He said this last part to Via who laughed. “I've been thinking Kitten, why do you always tint your hair?”

Via smiled slyly. “Don't want these guy's following me home.”

“Oh so you're a rich girl slumming it with the gangs?” Snake asked, only half jokingly.

They were always trying to figure out where Via came from, she refused to tell them where she lived and always made sure she was not followed when she went home. “Oh yea, I'm a stuck up cow.” She replied, rolling her eye's. “I'm getting another drink, I need to get away from you dorks for a bit.” She stood and walked over to the bar. “Hey, a butterfly thanks.” She said to the bar tender. This drink was an extremely colourful, non-alcoholic drink, she never drank alcohol.

Tye watched as the girl walked to the bar and followed, not noticing the disapointment on the face of the squirrel mystic who had been chatting to him. He heard the girl order and smiled. “Nice choice.” He said, leaning on the bar next to her. “I prefer just plain cola though, butterfly is more of a girls drink.”

Via laughed, not looking at the boy beside her, “Well if you hadn't noticed I am a girl.”

“Yea, I noticed.” Tye said seductively.

Via felt her heart beat slightly faster as she recognised the voice. She turned to confirm what her ears had told her. The crush she had on Tye had not diminished in the slightest, she was only able to keep her feelings hidden by thinking about the guy's who actually paid attention to her and by beating up the punching bags. “I bet you did.” She plastered a small, sarcastic smile over her lips, hoping Tye couldn't hear her pounding heart.

Tye's eyes wandered down the girls body, out of his control. He had only had this little control with one other girl. “Do I know you?” He asked, snapping his eyes back to the girls green ones.

Via laughed again, to cover her shock. “Come on, that is the oldest line in the book.” She put on a deep voice “'Do I know you?'” Then went high and overly girly. “'No.'” and back to the deep voice. “'Oh, it must have been in my dreams.'”

“No, not like that.” Tye said. “I feel like I know you from somewhere.”

Via decided to be flirty rather than nervous, it had worked with the other guys. “I would remember a guy as hot as you.” She took a small step forward.

“Kitten,” Snakes voice said behind Via. “Is this guy bothering you?”

“Not really.” Via replied, stepping back again.

“We don't like guys hitting on our girl.” Spark said, grabbing one of Via's hands.

“Yea.” Snake agreed, stepping forward. “So why were you doing it?”

A movement at her side caught her attention and she quickly put a hand on Sparks chest as he moved towards Tye. “Hey. I said he wasn't bothering me.” She snapped. She saw Snake move out of the corner of her eye and pinned him to the bar by twisting his arm painfully behind his back. “And I am not your girl.” She let her anger light her eyes.

“Miss?” The bar tender asked tentatively and Via quickly smothered the glow in her eyes. “Your drink.”

“Thanks.” Via said, picking up the large glass. “Come on boys. See you latter, maybe.” She walked back to the table, Snake and Sparks only following her because they knew they would be thrown out if they beat up someone.

“See ya.” Tye whispered as he turned back to his group, trying to figure out where he had seen her before.

“God guys.” Via said, sitting down angrily. “Protective much? I mean we aren't even going out. I have never even hinted that we would ever go out. What makes you think you have the right to interrupt my conversations?” Both boys started talking at the same time and Via shushed them. “Just don't do it again.” She decided that a change of subject was needed. “So no prospectives tonight?” She asked the girl less Brock.

“Yea, none really appeal to me.” He smiled and slipped an arm around Via's shoulders. “Just  have to make do with you I suppose.” He sighed dramatically.

Via laughed lightly. “Sorry hot stuff,” this was Via's normal response. “I should be heading off. Have school in the morning.”

“Oh, did I tell you that Snake and Sparks are going to school this year? To try and pass their final exams.”

“Good luck.” Via smiled and blew the guy's a kiss as she walked over to the door to the car park.

“That kiss was meant for me.” Snake said as he watched Via walk away.

“No way, it was meant for me.” Sparks retorted, punching Snakes arm.

“Hey!” Snake exclaimed and moved to hit Sparks back.

“It wasn't meant for ether of you.” Brock interrupted the argument. “It's Kitten's usual departing gesture. Just get over yourselves already and stop fixating on the forbidden.”

“She's forbidden?” Snake asked, eyes going slightly slitted.

“I said stop fixating, not get an unhealthy obsession.” Brock rolled his eyes and noticed a small, brown haired girl. He sniffed in her direction and caught the scent of squirrel. He smiled and left the table. “Don't kill each other while I'm gone.”

Via checked her rear vision mirror before ducking down an ally. It had become habit to check that she wasn't tailed and now she barely thought about it. She pressed a button under the steering wheel and the car turned from dark blue to silver and the plates letters unscrambled, h0t5tuf. The government had changed plates to seven letters some time in the 2500's. Needles to say, her mother hated the personal plate Rhonwyn had given her for Christmas, but Via had won the argument in the end.

She pulled into her driveway, not worried about security, she had rigged it so it would recognise her and the car and she would not show up on any of the monitors. Via was a genius, she had the highest IQ since Wattle H. Fredricks, the guy who suggested that number plates should be longer.

She didn't know this however, she never compared herself to others, just did what she felt she needed to so she could have a life. In truth there was one other with an equal IQ to her own, Tye.

These two teens had a lot in common that they didn't know about. They were both the smartest people in the world, and they were both the rarest type of Mystic. They shared a mix that was so rare that it hadn't been seen since the Majestics with all the types of Mystic powers within them. The general Mystic power of transformation into animals, the Mage control over elements and the Seer ability to, well, see.

Via was a White Tiger Mystic, a Complete Water Mage and a Truth Thought Seer. This meant that she could turn into a white tiger, could control water in all it's forms, see when people were lying and their thoughts.

Tye was a Wolf Mystic, a Fire Mage and a Weakness Fear Seer. So he could turn into a wolf, control fire and see people's weaknesses and fears.

These were such rare mixes because if a Mystic had more than one or two ability's they usually went into hibernation. This meant that some full blood Mystic family's could have a child who could not do anything or only had one ability, but their children could have an entirely different ability.

Via knew that the guys she hung out with didn't have as many ability's as her, but she didn't know just how rare her kind were. Tye thought he was the only of his kind and struggled to keep control over all his abilities, fire being more temperamental than Via's water.

Via's only struggle with her powers was to stop other people's thought from invaliding her mind and had built strong mental walls to prevent this, this also prevented Samantha from sensing her Mystic abilities, though Via didn't realise this.

Via flopped onto her bed exhausted. She had forgotten how annoying it was having a guard and how many strange glances she got. She was counting down the day's to the next holiday's and it was only the second week. She pulled out her phone and gave Rhonwyn a ring, “Hey my sexy. Oh hey Anton, sorry if I interrupted anything.”

“Na, all good.” Rhonwyn said, sticking her hands up the back of her top to refasten her bra. “What's up?” Anton walked out of view to give the girls some privacy.

“Not much, you know how it is. Mum is already planing my 18th.” Via complained lightly. “I mean I just had my 17th didn't I? Or have I been hibernating for a few months?”

“I better be coming.”

“Well, I don't know... After that number plate you got me for Christmas...” The girls cracked up then Via's hidden phone started to ring, this one didn't have a video connection. “Oh hang on, getting another call.” Via's voice changed to the one she used as Sasha which was only the slightest bit higher. “Hello?”

“Hey Kitten.” Snake replied.

“Oh hey. Wa'sup?”

“I'm going down to the MC, wanna come?”

“Just you, and me?” Via asked, rolling her eyes at Rhonwyn.

“Yea.”

“Um... No.”

“Why?”

“You know I don't like to show favouritism, and anyway, it's a school night and I should be doing homework.”

“Your not?” Snake asked. “You bad girl.” He sounded like he thought this a huge turn on, which Via thought he probably did.

“Not yet, gonna do it when the 'rents get home so they don't bug me.” Via lied, her parents were already home and almost never bugged her obviously.

“Yea, homework sucks ay?” Rhonwyn pretended to yawn.

“Hey, I just heard the car pull in.” Via lied again. “Talk to you latter. Get some of the guys together 'cose I'm going to want to go out this weekend.” She winked at Rhonwyn. “Bye sexy.” She hung up quickly before Snake could pull her into a conversation about his sexiness. “Sorry Rhony.” Via said, turning back to her screen and her voice going back to normal.

“Did you know that your voice changes when you talk to 'the guys'?”

“Really?” Via thought about it for a moment. “Well yours changes when you talk about guys so I guess we're even.”

“Who was it?”

“Snake.”

“He's one of the one's you likes you ay?”

“Yup.”

“Why don't you just go out with one of them?”

“I don't want to cause a rift in the group, and I don't really like one more than the other so it's not worth the bother.” The girls had this conversation almost every time they talked.

“So you're still innocent little Via?”

Via let out a bark of laughter. “Yea, I s'pose.”

Rhony thought for a while then laughed. “Imagine playing 'I have never'. You would get so blotto.”

“Don't tell Snake or Sparks that.” Via said laughing. “They would suggest that we play.”

“Like a thousand years ago they used to do it the other way around.” Rhonwyn commented.

“Do what the other way around?” Via asked.

“When you had to drink for I have never.” Rhonwyn rolled her eyes like this was obvious. “So if you had done it you drank. What's the point in that? It just means that the innocent ones stay innocent and the ones who had done it all just continue to do it.”

“True.” Via nodded, thinking.

“You know what you should do for your birthday,” Rhonwyn said after they had thought about this little bit of trivia, “You should just go out with 'the guys', bringing me of course. Your mum would probably die of a heart attack.”

“Yea, because I'm actually suggesting that I do something for my birthday. She would probably let me if I replaced 'the guys' with 'some kids from school'.”

“She would? Awesome, you should suggest it, then you might actually have some fun on your birthday.”

“Via...” Ann said, sticking her head around the door. “Can you hurry up on the phone, I want to bounce some ideas about your party off you.”

“Oh, mummy, I was going to talk to you about that.” Via said, quickly. “Some of the kids from school wanted to take me out to this club for my birthday. I've never been but they say that it has some great non-alcoholic cocktails. Would I be able to do that instead of having a huge party this year? And could Rhonwyn come over for it too?”

“Yes, sure.” Her mother said a little dazed, then smiled, “I'm glad to see you are finally getting into the whole birthday spirit.” Then she left.

“Do you think she heard me?” Rhonwyn asked.

“No way.” Via replied. “My room's completely sound proof so I can play music as loud as I want and not bother anyone. She wouldn't have been able to hear a thing until the door was opened.”

“Oh good.” Rhonwyn grinned. “We're going to have a party. I can't wait to meet 'the guys'.”

“Hey Guys.” Via called across the room to the guys beside the punching bags. “How's it going? Get kicked out of school yet?”

“They are on their last chance.” Hugs said angrily. “In their second school.”

“What? I was just joking.” Via said. “How are you on your second school already? It's only just the second term.”

“We keep on getting into fights.” Snake said in satisfaction, as if fighting was something to be proud of.

“He keeps getting into fights.” Sparks elaborated. “I keep having to bale him out, then we both get the blame.”

“What do you fight about?” Via asked.

“Beliefs.” Snake said simply. “A lot of Mystics don't believe the same as us and a few of them are more antagonistic than others.”

“Right.” Via said thoughtfully. “Anyway, what are we doing today?”

“Keeping in shape.” Sparks said. “Seeing who is the best.” His eyes flickered to Snake, they were tied for second in command of their small group.

“Cool.” Via said. “Can I join?”

Claws snickered until Hugs punched him. “Your going against her first.” He said and smiled at Claws shocked expression.

“All right.” Claws replied, moving towards the ring. “But no Mystic powers.”

“Sure.” Via said with a shrug. “Weapons?”

“Sticks only.”

Via nodded, picking up two sticks as she walked into the ring. “How long do you want this to last?” she asked Hugs, smiling.

“Just beat him as quickly as you can.”

“Oh, where's the fun in that.” Via threw one of the sticks to Claws and stood there, lazily tossing her stick between her hands, waiting for hugs to give the signal. She let her thoughts expand until she felt Claws' mind, she quickly read what move he was going to use and pulled her thoughts back.

“Go.” Hugs said. Claws swung at Via's head as she crouched, kicking his legs from under him. As he fell she grabbed his sick and pointed hers at his neck and his own sick at his crotch. He froze when he realised what had happened. Hugs burst out laughing. “We have a winner.” The others were still trying to figure out what had happened, the fight had taken less than a second

Via tossed away the sticks and helped Claws get up. “Good try.” She said smiling.

“What ever.” Claws replied.

“Who's next?” Via asked.

Jaws stepped up. “No Mystic powers. No weapons.” He said smiling.

Via put her hands on her hips, waiting for the signal again. She didn't even bother reading Jaws' mind, the way he was positioned showed exactly what he intended to do. “Go.” Jaws charged, arms out stretched. Via swung up onto his back and quickly pressed a pressure point before jumping away, the pressure point had a delayed reaction.

Jaws charged again. This time Via side stepped and tripped him, as he fell the pressure point kicked in, knocking him out. This fight had taken about ten seconds.

The others clapped and cheered as Via bowed to them. “Any one else?”

“No.” Hugs said. “You have a break. Sparks and Snake are going to fight next.” Via shrugged and moved out of the fighting ring to stand beside the others. Jaws had been dragged from the ring and Stripes and Claws were now trying to wake him.

“Powers?” Snake asked.

“Nope.” Sparks replied. “Weapons?”

“None.” Snake said.

Snake and Sparks moved into the ring and crouched into their ready positions, facing each other. “Go.” Hugs said, the boys started to fight.

Via watched in fascination as the boys fists became blurs, winced when one of Sparks met with Snakes jaw. This went on for a while, Via just watched the moves, thinking of what she would do to block them. Suddenly both boys found themselves in a head lock and they wrestled, nether of them wanting to let go. Via could see that they were both tiring and as the head lock cut off some of the oxygen getting to their brains, their faces turned red, then purple.

“Hugs?” Via whimpered in concern.

“Release.” Hugs called out and both boys stepped away from each other. “You two are far too evenly matched, you were freaking out Kitten.”

“Have you two tried fighting with powers?” Via asked.

“Yea.” Snake replied, panting slightly. “It was pretty much the same thing cos he can make electricity encase his body and I can spit poison.”

“Wouldn't Sparks just need to zap you?” Via asked.

“I get tiered from using my powers.” Sparks replied. “Not quickly, but it's easier for me to put electricity along my skin than send it outside my body.”

Via nodded, then looked at Sparks. “I want to fight you next.” She said. “After you have rested, with powers.” Everyone started laughing, never thinking that a mere tiger could stand up against the electrical current that Sparks produced. Via just smiled. “I have a few tricks you might be interested in.”

“You guys should get patched up before doing anything else.” Hugs said, handing the first aid kit to Via. “Would you do the honers?”

Via rolled her eyes. “Come on you two.” She said, leading them over to the couch. “Now who hurts the most?” She asked.

“Me.” Both boys replied at the same time, then glared at each other.

“Well then I should probably treat Sparks first, since I am going to be kicking his but soon.” She quickly read his mind to find which parts of him hurt. There wasn't much, just some bruising. “OK, now go rest. I want the fight to be as fair as possible.”

When Sparks had left, Snake turned to Via. “Do you like him then?”

“What?” Via exclaimed. “No more than anyone else.”

“But your fighting him.” Snake said.

Via rolled her eyes and put a plaster over a cut in Snakes eyebrow. “I want to see if I can beat his power. Someone who can change animal is like fighting without powers, the only one here with an animal more powerful than me is hugs. A fight with you could possibly be quite evenly matched, but a fight with elements. That would be a fun challenge.”

Snake laughed. “So you're fighting his power, not him.”

“Oh no, I will still be fighting him.” Via corrected. “But the reason I am fighting him is because of his power.”

“Oi,” Hugs called from the ring, “You ready?”

“Yea.” Via called, getting up. She stepped into the centrer of the ring and sat cross legged on the floor, concentrating.

“Are you OK?” Sparks asked.

“Just get ready to have your but kicked.” Via replied, letting her thoughts expand until she felt Sparks. “This fight will surprise you all.” She said, not bothering to listen for a reply.

“Go.”

Via waited, listening to Sparks thoughts. Just wait for her to turn and bite you. He was thinking. Then give her enough juice to knock her out for a few minutes.

She smiled, pulling together water particles in the air. She made a bubble of humid air surround Sparks. She heard someone swear and looked up. Small flashes were jumping between Sparks and the water in the air. She slowly brought her hands together, the water pulling in around Sparks. More electrical bursts flashed from Sparks. Via saw him tiering and she frowned slightly. She quickly put her hands fully together and ice surrounded Sparks, only his face uncovered.

She blinked away a dizzy spell as the others cheered. “Kitten wins again.” Hugs bellowed happily, running forward and scooping the startled Via into one of his trade mark hugs, she had forgotten the others were there. Her control over the ice broke and it quickly melted into a puddle at Sparks' feet. “Why didn't you tell us you were an Ice Mage?” Hugs asked, setting her back on to her feet where she swayed slightly.

Via shrugged, still fighting the dizziness. “Forgot I guess. I can control water as well.”

“A complete water mage. If you had told us that then you would have been tested a lot sooner.” Hugs grinned. “We could do with another Mage in our ranks.”

“Hey.” Sparks put his hand on Via's shoulder as she swayed again. “You all right?”

“Yea.” Via said. “It's just that I haven't done so much with my powers in a long time.” Her knees buckled slightly and her eyelids fluttered. Someone lead her onto the couch and she felt two bodies sit beside her, one on each side.

“We'll have to go out and celebrate.” Hugs said, Via hear the grin in his words.

“After she has rested.” Sparks replied from Via's right.

“Is there anything you need?” Snakes voice asked from her left.

She shook her head slightly. “Just need to rest for a little while.” She rested her head back against the couch, feeling her strength slowly return. After fifteen minutes she looked up at the others and smiled. “So where are we going?”

Via laughed as the guys practically carried her into the MC. “Hey, guys.” Via said. “Put me down already.” They reached their usual booth and dumped her in the middle of the row of seats.

“What do you want?” Claws asked, the others had slipped into the booth, trapping Via in the middle of Snake and Sparks.

“A butterfly.” Via replied. “Thanks Claws.”

Sparks leaned in slightly to whisper in her ear. “You were absolutely gorgeous when you started using your powers. You got this kind of glowing aura. I was so worried when you almost collapsed.”

“Thanks Sparks.” Via said, waiting for him to turn it into some dirty joke. He didn't, just started chatting to Hugs, again Stripes couldn't come with them. Via frowned, she wasn't used to the boys appreciating her and not just her body. She picked up her drink thoughtfully, wondering if one of the boys actually cared for her. Why not just go out with one of them. She thought to herself. It's not like it will be anything serious.

Snake leaned in, he had heard what Sparks had said. “You were so sexy earlier, all I could think about while you were fighting Sparks was how much I wanted to kiss you.”

Via turned to sparks. “Hey, want to dance.” The others all looked at her in shock, she had never danced with anyone before. She slipped her hand into Sparks'.

Sparks looked at her for a moment, then turned to Hugs smiling. “Move it man, let us out.”

Snake stared after them and Hugs scooted closer. “What did you do man?” He asked.

“I just said that she looked sexy and that I wanted to kiss her.” Snake replied.

Hugs burst out laughing. “You idiot. Sparks said all this caring crap and you just said what you normally do.”

“Oh.” Snake shook his head.

“Why me?” Sparks asked as he and Via danced.

Via shrugged. “Just decided not to care about the consequences any more.”

“Cool.” Sparks put his hand on Via's hips, pulling her closer. He heard Via gasp slightly and chuckled. “You don't dance with guys much do you?” He pulled one of her hands on his shoulder, the other staying at her hip.

“Not really.” Via murmured. She had been surprised at how good it felt to dance like this, so close to a guy. The feel of his hands on her hips sent a thrill up her spine. She looked up into the smiling face in front of her and wondered why she hadn't done this sooner.

Sparks looked into Via's golden eyes and smiled. “How inocent are you Kitten? Your eyes are glowing and we are only dancing.”

Via blushed and looked away, horrified that her inexperience was so obvious. “Don't tell anyone ay? I have a reputation to protect.” She smothered the glow.

Sparks lifted her chin slowly, using just the tip of one finger. “I know a way for you to protect your rep.”

“Yea?” Via asked. “And what would that be?”

Sparks' thumb lightly stroked Via's bottom lip. “Well it depends what kind of rep you want.” His finger traced her jaw, Via felt like her heart was beating at a million times a second. “With the rep you have at the moment I suggest that I kiss you,” Via chuckled at this, “Then you push me away and finally you pull me in for a full make out session.”

Via laughed, removing her chin from his light hold. “You just want me to pash you.”

“Well yea.” Sparks said, his hand moving up to her ribs. “It will also show that you're not completely innocent, but you will only do things on your own terms.”

Via nodded, it made some sense. She looked up into Sparks' eyes from under her lashes, “I still think you just want to make out with me.”

Sparks lifted her chin again, “So what?” and kissed her.

At first she froze, it was her first kiss, she didn't know what to do. But he did. As his lips went from soft to firm, to soft again and he caressed her neck and lower back, pulling her closer, she felt herself melt. His tongue darted between his lips to flutter over hers, and her knees collapsed.

Sparks felt Via collapse into him and he held her up, swaying them and still kissing her. Eventually he pulled back and smiled at Via's small mew of disappointment. “You didn't stick to the plan.” He murmured.

Via didn't hear what Sparks had said, she was still trying to pull herself back to the real world. “Wow.” She gasped. She looked up into Sparks mischievous grin and she smiled shyly back.

“I'm guessing it was good then?” Sparks teased.

Via nodded. So good. She thought. If a kiss is this good with a guy I never thought I liked then what will it be like with Tye? As soon as the thought had gone through her head she hated herself. She had just had an amazing kiss with a guy who actually paid attention to her and all she could think about was a guy who barely knew she existed. The smile slipped from her face. “I can't do this.” She pulled away from Sparks hold. “Sorry.” She almost ran back to the table where the others were sitting. “Can you pass me my bag please?” The boys just looked at her as she tried not to cry. “Hugs!”

He quickly passed her the small bag and she rushed for the door before Sparks could figure out what had happened. He walked slowly back to the others. “Dude.” Hugs said. “What happened?”

“I don't know.” Sparks replied. “I kissed her and she just ran off.” Snake burst out laughing.

“You were meant to keep her with the group, not frighten her away.” Hugs said angrily.

“So this was all a set up?” Snake asked.

“No, I just decided that Sparks will be the one to get her. I couldn't tell you because it would look strange if you just gave up for no reason.” Hugs replied, still glaring at Sparks. “You will give up now. We need her.”
