Via lay on her bed two weeks later, staring up at the canopy. She had been avoiding the guys since she had kissed Sparks. The first day after The Kiss her hidden phone had rung so many time that she had ended up just switching it off. Her monitor started flashing. “Caller I.D.” She said to the room at large, glancing at the screen to see who was calling her. Rhonwyn;s name was flashing now. She smiled, sitting up, pulling out her head set and pressing the little button near her ear. “Hey babe.” She smiled at the screen.

“Are you OK?” Rhonwyn asked, a small frown between her eyes.

“Why do you ask?” Via asked. She hadn't talked to Rhonwyn since The Kiss. Rhonwyn just looked at her. “All right.” Via gave in. “I kissed S...”

Rhonwyn's excited screeching interrupted Via's confession. “Oh My God!!!” Via pulled her head set from her ears so she wouldn't go deaf. She waited until Rhonwyn had stopped screaming before putting her head set back on. “So you have to tell me everything. What was it like? When did it happen? How did it happen? Who was it with?”

“Well if you hadn't interrupted me you would have heard me say that I had kissed Sparks.” Via said.

“Why him?” Rhonwyn asked. “Why not Snake? And what happened to Tye?”

“Snakes a dick and Tye never notices me.”

“So...” Rhonwyn said, waiting for Via to supply more details. When she didn't, Rhonwyn just continued. “When did it happen?”

“A few weeks ago at the MC.” Via replied. “We were dancing and he just... Kissed me.”

“What was it like?” Rhonwyn smiled.

Via sighed, falling back on to the bed. “Wonderful.” The two girls giggled. “But at the end of it I couldn't stop thinking about Tye. I kind of ran out of the club.”

Rhonwyn stared at her. “What did he say about that?”

“Nothing.” Via replied. “I haven't talked to him since, any of them actually.”

“Do you like him?”

“I like kissing him.” Via replied thoughtfully. “I don't know if there is anything more than physical stuff there.”

“I don't think he will mind that.” Rhonwyn smiled.

Via sat up. “I think he will mind if I think of another guy while kissing him.”

“From what you said you only thought about Tye after the kiss.” Rhonwyn said. “What were you thinking about while he was kissing you.”

“Um I can't really remember.” Via replied sheepishly. “His lips were very distracting.”

Rhonwyn giggled again. “Then I say go for it. You have spent way too long obsessing over Tye. Just have fun.”

“Is that what you would do?” Via teased.

Rhonwyn fanned herself. “Didn't I tell you I was a bad influence.” Both the girls giggled. “So when are you going to call him.”

“Well it is Friday.”Via said thoughtfully. “I could call him now. You have to be quiet though, or I'll put you on mute.”

“Call away.” Via pulled out her hidden phone and turned it on for the first time in two weeks and swore. “Did inocent little Via just swear? I really am a bad influence. What's happened?”

“I have so many missed calls.” Via said, checking who it was who had called. “Sparks has called me like ten times each day. Even hugs called me almost every day.”

“Wow.” Rhonwyn snickered. “You have those guys wrapped around your little fingers.”

“Yea.” She dialled Sparks' number. “Shush.”

“Kitten?” Sparks answered the phone quickly. “Are you all right? Where have you been?”

“I'm fine.” Via replied. “Just needed to think a few things through.”

There was a pause. “So what did you decide?”

“Well I'm free this weekend....”

“This weekend. That's great. Oh wait, Hugs wanted to talk to you about that.” Via heard some movement on the other end of the phone. “Hey Hugs, I have Kitten on the phone.”

“Where the hell has she been. She's cutting it close.” Hugs voice was getting closer to the phone.

“Hey.” Via said quickly. “You do understand that I'm saying I want to go out with you this weekend don't you?”

“Yea.” Sparks said. “I'll talk to you after Hugs has told you the great news. Here he is.”

“Where the hell have you been?” Hugs said angrily. “I have called every fricken day. What the hell have you been doing.”

“I...”

“Look, I just need to tell you that we have a job this weekend and the bosses say to take you along. We need you to distract the guard. Are you able to come into HQ for the weekend?”

“The whole weekend?” Via thought for a moment. “Yea probably. I'll just have to make up something so my parents won't expect me home at all. What time do you want me there?”

“Tonight.” Hugs replied. “Jobs tomorrow night but you need to know what to do.”

“All right.” Via replied. “See you later. Oh can I talk to Sparks again?”

“Yea sure. Here he is.”

“So after this job do you want to do something?” She asked as seductively as she could.

“Well we always go to the MC after a job, we could leave the others early and do our own thing.” Sparks said, ten times as seductively as anything Via had heard in her life.

“OK. See you later.” Via replied, getting awkward.

“See ya.”

Via hung up the phone and lay back on the bed with a sigh. Rhonwyn giggled from the screen. “Wow, what was all that about? What are you doing for the whole weekend?”

“Me and Sparks are going to have some alone time.” Via smiled. She sprang up. “I got to talk to my rents, make sure they think what I want them to. See ya later.”

“See ya babe.” Rhonwyn said before the screen went blank.

“Hey mum.” Via called out the door. “Can I go out with some friends from school? One of the kids family's have this cool beach house and her dad has hired a huge amount of guards so we don't need to take our own. Its for the whole weekend, I'll be back on Sunday.”

Via's mum came to the door. “You're actually going out with some of your friends? Are there going to be boys?”

“Only the guards.” Via replied smoothly.

“Yea, sure.” Her mum said in a slight daze. “Do you need to be dropped off?”

“No, I'll drive.”

“Hey boys.” Via said cheerfully. “So what are we doing?”

“Quite a lot.” Hugs said, Via could see that he was still angry. “If you had actually answered your phone we wouldn't have to rush now.”

“Sorry.”

“How good are you with a gun?” Hugs asked.

“Dead on.” Via replied. “But I don't think I could actually shoot someone.”

“Right, we'll give you a gun for self defence and to threaten.”

“Threaten, wait, what are we actually doing?” Via asked.

“This is the long part.” Hugs replied. “You know how us Mystics have to stay in hiding so we don't freak out the humans?” Via nodded. “And you know how our organisation is trying to get Mystics the publicity they deserve?” Via nodded again. “We have found a way to do that, well our bosses anyway.”

“Great.” Via enthused. “How?”

“Have you heard of the Majestics?” Via shook her head. “Well they are like the gods of the Mystic world. There are six of them, three gods and three goddesses. They created a vault and in that vault is the key to Mystic freedom. We need to collect the Majestic Stones. They are gems that will unlock the vault. There is two for each Majestic and so far we have four. We need to get this one this week end because the humans who currently have it are going away so there will only be an old guard.”

“We're going to steal it?” Via asked.

“Well they aren't going to just give it to us.” Hugs said matter of factly. Via nodded in agreement. “And what right do pure, rich, stupid humans have to own one of the most sacred stones known to Mystics? The think its just a large, flawless gem.”

“I get your point.” Via said. “What do you want me to do?”

They had spent Friday evening and most of Saturday talking about the plan. They had driven past the house a few times, going over exactly what Via needed to do. It was now almost midnight on Saturday night and Via was sitting in the back of the black SUV that the guys had parked a few meters down from the house. Hugs was in the driving seat. “So with this guard,” She said hesitantly, “Exactly how far do you expect me to go to distract him?”

“I expect you to do anything necessary to distract him.” Hugs said harshly, then he glanced at her. “Its your first job though so no need to do anything you haven't already.” He handed her her a small broach in the shape of a cat. “Press down on its head if you think you need to get out, if the guard is getting too grabby or what ever. I'll hurry the guys along then come and get you. If you really, really need help then press three times.”

“Thanks. OK, lets do this.” Via said. “Oh one thing, which stone are we getting? For which Majestic I mean?”

“It's an emerald for Mage Fecte, god of plants and earth.”

Via walked down the street towards the huge mansion, that she realised now wasn't very far from her own house. When she was in site of the gates she ran. She pressed the call button on the intercom beside the gate and a male voice spoke through it. “State your business.”

Via looked over her shoulder, trying to see where the others were and hoping it looked like she was watching her back in fear. “Please let me in. There is a guy following me, he has a knife.” She gushed into the microphone. “Please.” She glanced over her shoulder again. “Oh god he's getting closer.” She heard the gate unlock.

“Get inside then wait beside the gate until I get there.” The man's voice said.

“Thank you.” Via rushed through the gate as the black clad, gloved, masked Claws reached it. She faintly heard the sound of Hugs giving him orders through his hidden ear piece.

She began to push the gate shut, but Claws put his foot in the way, reaching through with the knife in his had. “Scream.” He hissed at her, swinging the knife around wildly. Via did.

The sound of running footsteps could be heard not too far away. “Put down the knife.” The male voice yelled, Via knew just from the sound of it that he would have a gun.

Via heard the ripping of material and felt pain sear through her arm. She looked down and gasped at the gash that had appeared, pulling away from the gate. She heard a gun fire and watched as bullets thudded into the wood not too far from her. Claws left in a hurry, swearing slightly. “She didn't need to fake the fear any more, just the direction it was aimed. She collapsed against the gate, effectively shutting it, and the guard ran to her side, holstering his gun. “Are you all right miss? I'm sorry to have fired so close to you, but I thought it would be the best way to get rid of him.”

“That's all right.” Via murmured.

“Come on, lets get you inside and have a look at that cut.” The guard helped her up the drive way, half the length of her own. “I'll get the first aid kit. Is there someone you want to call? Parents maybe?”

“I'll text my boyfriend.” Via replied, pulling out her cell phone. “I was meant to meet him, I thought that just a short walk down the road would be fine.”

“Yea all right.” The guard smiled and Via realised he was probably close to retirement. He pushed her onto the control room and offered her the nicely padded swivel chair. “You wait here, I'll get the kit.”

Via texted Hugs. Im in, grd is dstrctd. Tll C Im gong 2 kll hm. She watched the monitors and noticed each of them flash slightly as the guys started the loops, the cameras in the area's were Via and the guard were stayed on continuous footage so she could see herself staring at the monitors.

“All right,” The guard came back into the room, startling Via slightly, but she didn't show it. “Lets have a look at that gash.”

He lent against the table with the monitors and opened the first aid kit. He sprayed the area with anaesthetising antiseptic and Via felt her arm go numb. “Wow that is a weird feeling.” She said.

“Yea.” The guard laughed “The first time numbing is always a bit strange. You should be able use your arm again in a few hours.”

“What?” Via exclaimed. “Why can't I use my arm?”

“Its one of the properties of this particular anaesthetic.” The guard cringed. “This family never uses it so they never think to update it.”

“Right.” Via said, concentrating on her fingers, trying to move them. The guard pulled out a needle and thread. “What the hell is that for?” She moved back, away from the guard, then realised how rude she had been. “Sorry.”

“No worries.” The guard said. “The gash is quite big and over an often used muscle. Just a few stitches will prevent it from opening and creating a scar.”

“A scar!” I am going to kill Claws.

“Don't worry.” The guard chuckled. “Scars are really easy to prevent now. All you need is a small amount of scar away cream every day until it's healed. It also helps with the healing.”

Via groaned. “Well that's a good thing I guess.” Out of the corner of her eye she saw the monitors flicker again. The guard was putting the gauze over the cut when Via's phone rang. “Oh hang on.” She stood up and walked a small distance away before answering the phone. “Hi.”

Hugs' voice came through the phone. “The guys are out, I'm coming to get you.”

“Thanks Ricky.” Via said, using the fake name she had been told to use. “See you soon.”

“Was that your boyfriend?” The guard asked, moving to the chair. “Is he on his way.”

“Yea, will be here any second.” Via replied.

A car appeared on one of the screens and a disguised Hugs leaned out of the window, pressing the button on the intercom. “Hey, I'm looking for Martha.”

“That's me.” Via said.

The guard pressed a button beside a microphone. “What's your name?”

“Ricky Polisky.” Hugs replied.

The guard raised his eyebrow at Via. “That is my boyfriend.” She said. “Shall I just walk to the gates?”

“No.” The guard said. “I'll take you.” He pressed the button again. “I'll bring her down.” He stood  and lead the way out of the house and down the drive to the gate. “Take care of yourself.” He said, letting Via out.

“Thanks for all your help.” Via said before running to Hugs and hugging him with one arm, muttering, “I am going to kill Claws.”

“Just get in.” Hugs murmured back, giving her a small push towards the front passengers seat. He drove off, stopping about 100 meters down from the house to pick up the guys.

“Claws you are dead.” Via said as soon as he got in the car. “As soon as I'm able to move my arm again.”

The guys cracked up. “What did I do?” Claws asked.

“Me getting injured wasn't part of the plan.” Via retorted, turning in her seat to glare at him. “I have stitches!”

“What's the big problem?” Sparks asked, putting his hands on Via's shoulder.

Via had to ignore her heart beating in her ears so she could speak. “If my parents see this they will never let me out of the house again.”

“Why do you worry about what your parents will let you do?” Snakes asked, Via knew he wasn't over her, but he was trying.

“I don't much, but they will call the cops if I go 'missing' for a weekend.” Via replied. “It means I would only be able to come out late at night after my rents have gone to sleep.”

“So every time you have met us, you have snuck out?” Sparks asked.

“Apart from this weekend, yes.” Via replied.

“That's so sexy.” Sparks whispered seductively, leaning forward and kissing her until they reached the HQ. Via didn't even hear the cat calls, wolf whistles and fake barfs. Sparks pulled back. “Hey look at that. We're back.”

“What?” Via looked around. “Oh wow.”

“Go get out of your disguise.” Hugs said, leaning over her and opening the door.

Via looked at her reflection in the bathroom. She brushed the black hair dust out of her hair and put red in. Removed the brown colour contacts and put her altered green contacts in. She moved the cheek pads up and wiped off the pale foundation and put on one slightly darker than her natural skin tone. “From one disguise to another.” She whispered to her reflection before leaving the bathroom.

“Girls really do take ages in the bathroom.” Claws mocked. Sparks glared at him. “Sorry, sorry. I'll leave your girl alone.”

“You trying to defend me Sparks?” Via asked, standing very close to him, trying to use her body to unnerve him. It didn't work.

“So what if I am.” He asked, running the tip of his finger down her arm.

Via struggled to remember what she was going to say. “You don't need to. I can defend myself, especially against Claws.”

“I know.” Sparks moved his hand from her arm to her chin. “But as your boyfriend I have defending rights now.”

Via was reminded of the night Tye had come up to her in the MC, but the thought was pushed out of her head when Sparks lips met hers. “You're going to have to stop doing that.” She murmured when she was able to think again, in the car on the way to the club.

“And why would I want to stop?”

“I can't think when you touch me.” Via confessed. “It's strange, I'm used to thinking.”

“Not thinking is a good thing.” Sparks said kissing her again.

They celebrated, Via not moving far from Sparks side, any time she started to speak to him he started kissing her, most of the night she was unable to think. “Hey, look who just turned up.” Snakes said, interrupting another kiss.

Via looked over, the after kiss daze still clouding her eyes. She saw Tye and the other popular kids from school. It cleared the daze very quickly. “I have the right to defend you now don't I?” Sparks said.

“You do, but that guy hasn't done anything.” Via said quickly.

“He was hitting on you.” Sparks said.

Via rolled her eyes. “That was months ago.” Sparks didn't stop glaring. “Oh, come dance.” She said, pulling him out of the booth.

“Hey she's dancing with one of them.” Angel said.

“Who's what?” Tye asked, looking around. When he saw Kitten and Sparks dancing his eyes started to glow. “Oh them. She must have decided between the two who were hitting on her.”

“Dude. The fact that you remember that is weird.” Geo said. “You haven't seen them for months.”

“She may not have decided.” Sam said, trying to keep Tye's hopes up, he had been obsessing about the Rebel girl as much as he had been obsessing about Viviana. “She could just be giving them a chance to prove themselves to her. Or something.”

“Yes that is definitely her giving them a chance.” Finn said, indicating the now kissing couple. “That looks like they are doing it for the first time.” Finn said sarcastically.

“Didn't I tell you not to do that.” Via said, still struggling out of the most recent daze.

“Yea.” Sparks replied. “And I chose to ignore it.”

“I have to head off.” Via said late in the afternoon on Sunday. “Hugs, is there any books or anything on the Majestics? I would like to know more about them.”

“Yea, here you go.” He chucked a book at her. “That one is pretty much a list of the Majestics and what they did. There is also this one.” He chucked another book, older than the first one. “It's a copy of a diary for one of the Majestics apparently, none of us have been able to read it.”

“Cool thanks.” Via said, thumbing through the two books quickly. “See ya later.” She got up and started towards the door.

“Wait.” Sparks said. “Don't I get a goodbye kiss?”

Via laughed. “If I give you a goodbye kiss then I won't be able to drive home. And I have to have my mind working to try and explain this to my parents.” She pointed to the gauze on her arm covering the gash. “By the way Claws, if it scars I shall kill you, slowly and painfully.”

Claws rolled his eyes, pulling out a much more modern first aid kit than the one the guard used. “Put this on it instead of the gauze.” He said, passing her something that looked like a plastic wrapped piece of skin. “It's a healing patch.” He continued. “The patch changes colour to suit your skin and it has medi junk in it to stop scaring.”

“Cool thanks.” Via said in surprise, then turned to the others. “Why didn't you guys tell me about this before?”

“It was fun watching you threaten Claws.” Hugs said with a grin.

“Oh thanks.” Via said, rolling her eyes and applying the patch. “Now I really have to go. Bye babe.” She blew a kiss to Sparks. “See you guys later.”

“I'm home!” Via called to the house at large.

“How was your weekend?” Her mother asked, stepping out of the kitchen.

“Great.” Via said. “But I feel like such a blob, we just sat around the whole time ether sunbathing or watching movies. I'm going to the basement. Don't know when I'll be done.”

“OK Honey.” Her mother smiled. “It's so good that your socialising.”

“Yea mum.” Via cringed internally and ran into the basement. She didn't really feel like punching anything so she went to the treadmill instead. She made her mind focus on her steps left right left right so she wouldn't have to think about how she was deceiving her parents.
