Who knows what were meant to do in life
I'm a work in Progress
filled with nails and screws tied loose
and i'll never know if all the pieces
will ever be in use

Though all my pieces are in the box
some are hard to find
Some are like my memories
that i'll never leave behind

I'm a work in progress
yes this statement is true
I'll never know for sure
what this machine is meant to do

A unique little gadget
a manufactured toy
or maybe an odd little button
that no one knows what it's for

I'm a work in progress
and I've lost my instructions
I'm without a picture on the cover
to give me a sense of direction

So build me up
or tear me down
next drill a hole
then nail me to the ground
and i'm forever between being lost and found
cause i'm a work in progress

Someday i'll know
someday i'll show
and all my work will be done
but i truly see and truly believe
that getting there from here
will be all the fun.
