venture into the devided regions of my internal playground. but beware
beyond the black pool
a dead world lies
shrouded in mist and ash
decaying in silence
forgotten memories lay strewn across the streets
cracked and dry
the endless corridors lie ahead
I wonder them
as my footsteps echo upon the walls
solemn, lonely
empty windows covered in dust
making manikins look alive
they stand watching
as their world crumbles into nothing
below the horizon a siren calls
it tomes in tune
as the darkness rolls forth
peeling away paint
turning all to rust
it spreads down the walls
cages appear
and the low churning of industrial machines
grind tirelessly from below
red rust
and sharp metal
clinging to my skin
twisted forms stagger in the distance
moaning with tortured voices
i can hear their shuffling against the metal floor
as they come closer
reaching out with hungry fingers
eyes filled with pain and malice
there is no escape
