A dark poem of vengence.
I wonder if you remember me,
The lover that you killed?
Can you still hear my screams,
Or see the blood you spilled?

Was it just a game to you,
The night you declared your love?
When you asked me for my hand,
Was it my death you were thinking of?

I will admit you had me fooled,
I believed your wretched lies,
I thought you were my shining prince,
But there was a demon behind your eyes.

It wasn’t long before you made it clear,
I was no more than a piece of meat.
Then came the night you sacrificed me,
And left me to die in the street.

The rain did wash my blood away,
Some speak of my disappearance still.
But I am back to let you know;
You’ll never be rid of the one you killed.

You’ll see my face each morning,
At night I’ll twist your dreams,
I’ll drive you slowly to madness,
And treasure all your screams.

When at last you can take no more,
And trembling you hold a knife,
My cold, dead hands will guide you,
To finally put an end to your life.
