A sonnet I wrote for my English class. It had to be about a love interest.
Dearest Keith…

Dear Keith, have I told you that I love you?
Have I told you that you smell like a rose?
And that your eyes sparkle a sapphire blue?
Or that you have the most angelic voice?

Dear Keith, do you recall the holidays?
When we exchanged gifts and lost track of time?
And those times when we didn’t talk for days?
Or that time, when we found a lucky dime?

Dear Keith, do you remember our summer song?
The one about the rebel and book girl
Or those debates about ‘us’ being wrong
And our story grew like dust to a pearl

Dear Keith, you are a faded photograph
But in my mind, we share a lasting laugh.
