Quote of the Month: June 2009

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds on in its net of wonder forever.
~Jacques Cousteau

The Sea

Eighteen years,
and here am I,
caught between ocean
and endless sky.

Countless adventures
between man and sea.
Laying here waiting,
the waves calling to me.

The sea has beckoned
since I was born,
near the lighthouse
and its loud fog horn.

I've dreamed of this day
for many a year.
Oblivious to any existing
qualm or fear.

The ocean, the sea
she will be my home.
Her nets have been cast,
her waves I will roam.
