A poem (an anthology) for beautiful Maria
True Lies

My solecism guiles you sweetly
Justly do you feign bewilderment
As I conjure a potent truth-spell
Its fantasy seeps through
Soothes your soul with silken words
Only you can hear

So tell me:
Am I wrong to utter the secrets of my heart?
If only to savor the nectar of your bosom
Would I lie so tenderly
Ooh, so deeply

When you gaze into my eyes
I fall in love
When you smile I die a thousand little deaths
Of joy and sensuous rapture
Each time I’m resurrected by your kiss

Ah, there, yes…

In sultry whispers
Do I confess my naughty visions
Of you and I
At play in a nightly garden of orchids
And wild violets

Opal sky and sapphire moods
When at last we reveal our kaleidoscopic hues
A mural of love
In all its splendor

A poem for Maria
