It doesn't matter how much you love someone--you have to stand up to them.
There is a Demon within me,
and its tearing at my skin.
Your eyes would have burned,
to witness my greatest sin.

Condemn me as you may,
but understand me not.
Fools can only know of
what guilty conscious' wrought.

Though my anger may be steep
I try shoving it away.
Such folly that you preach
and yet you hold amazing sway.

Do not think what you're saying
can simply change my mind.
This blasphemy towards me
holds little prevalence you'll find.

How do you view these words now,
so pure and undisguised?
Surely this is meaning,
if any truth be prized.

This comes so easily
since what I have to say is clear.
I refuse to throw my life away
based upon unproven fear.

So look up past the obvious,
and hear my point of view.
Torment holds no wiles compared
to what I face with you.
