1st ch. in what i hope will be my 1st novel. events based off of my life. look for ch. 2!
The whole world was crashing down on her. It felt like she had been sucker punched in the gut and then the ground had been ripped right out from underneath her. How could he do this? After seven months, how could he just end all that they were with one phone call?
The words hadn't even come out of his mouth yet, but she knew what was coming. It was inevitable. All the fighting, her jealousy, tring to control him all the time... She was still a week away from turning 16 and he was graduating highschool. He was her first serious boyfriend; surely  he couldn't have expected he to have handled every situation perfectly. He loved her - he said so. He meant it. He had to. How could he claim he didn't now?
She dropped the phone. Everything had blurred; she couldn't see. Not knowing if it was her tears or the utter confusion that clouded her vision, she frantically began wiping her eyes. The sting of torn flesh under her fingernails made her run to the bathroom. She screamed as she looked in the mirror. Holding her chest, she tried to keep from coughing -  an asthma attack was not what she wanted.Sobbing, she therw herself into the corner & sank down to the ground. Hours seemed to pass & she wanted to die there in that very spot, crumpled on the cold, linoleum floor.
Before it could register, she was being lifted out of her corner & carried to her bed by strong arms. She looked up into the face of Josh. What was he doing here? Not really caring she continued crying into his chest, clutching him for dear life while he gently rocked & caressed her. It only vaguely occured to her how ironic it was that the boy she had been so hopelessly devoted to for a year & a half, despite the vain promises he made to leave his girlfriend, was the first one there to  take care of her after the brutal wounding she was suffering.
Caroline noticed Lee and Ashley patiently standing in the doorway, their eyes not leaving the floor. She wondered how long they had been here.. Probably the whole time. God, they were going to think she was pitiful. Caroline could feel the embarrasment, meant for HER, radiating off of them. She looked away and sobbed harder.
She woke up laying tucked into her bed, wearing her pajamas, in her pitch dark room. But she didn't remember falling alseep, much less getting ready for bed. Josh must have pulled of getting her to fall asleep long enough to get her comforatable and sneak out. Picking up her phone she statred at the time - 4:08am... 4:12am... 4:16am... Suddenly it began to sing that beautiful love story song and Levi's flashed on the screen. Was it a dream? Had he not thrown away their relationship like she thought, like she remembered?

    Not hesitating, she answered. "Hello?"

"Hey..." came across in a strained voice.

Now she knew it all had really happened. Levi wasn't himself. But why was he calling her again? Was he trying to kill her? Did he really just not care how much he hurt her that he had to do it over & over again?

"Look," he said, breaking the silence she had unknowingly created while her mind raced with theses questions. "I understand if you can't forgive me and don't want me back but I'm sorry and I love you... I messed up."

"I forgive you." The words escaped her mouth almost before he had finished.

    A silence passed.

"Okay," Levi whispered. "Get some sleep. We'll talk tomorrow."

    "Okay. Goodnight," Caroline replied softly.
