How to troubleshoot audio problems with cars? Read along...
Problems with car audio happen now and then. It is definitely impossible to call a technician always to repair it. How about learning the basics of car audio problems and trying to resolve them? Here you go…

Noise in audio system goes off when the car is switched off:

Step 1: This could be due to noise in the power connection. You will get 12V noise filters in the market. Installing this may resolve the problem.

Crackling or popping noise from the amplifiers:

Step 2: Remove all the connections to the speaker except the minimum connections like power, ground, and remote leads. If the popping or crackling sound persists, it could be either problem with the amplifier or the installation is not proper. Check if the amplifier is installed or mounted properly. If not, do so and check. If even after installing the amplifier properly the problem persists, it could be a problem with the amplifier.

Alternate whine problem:

Step 3: When there is a difference in electrical potential between any two points, alternate whine problems occur in car audio. The two points could be anything like the amplifier or the head unit or crossovers or equalizers. You need to carefully see which two points are causing the problem.

Amplifier shuts on and off repeatedly:

Step 4: This could either be due to overheating or an amplifier problem. Therefore, first check whether power ratings are in sync with the specifications mentioned for the amplifiers. If yes, the problem is with the amplifier and you need to either repair or replace the amplifiers.

Tips:

Always switch off the car when you are working with your car.

Warnings:

Be careful when dealing with wire connections to avoid shocks.

If you are not comfortable troubleshooting problems with the car on your own, please get in touch with a technician.
