A poem a wrote when I was feeling a bit down.
With sweat upon our brows

We're drawing closer now

To the Omnipresence

Of everything we’ve ever chosen not to say

So tired of the pressure

Still wondering if men much lesser

can cast a shadow on those above.

I lay my head now down to rest

upon the comfort of your breast

Your heart beat's all I ever want to hear

And It’s the only thing that’s left

of everything I’ve ever known

I see the promise in your eyes

feel the smile in you kiss

like so many droplets of rain, one is bound to miss.

I’ve come to hate the life that steals away your light

and suffocates me under pretenses of wrong and right

but the will to push on has always come easily for me

and I’m first and foremost a survivor that’s lost his way.

A lover and a fighter, wills collide and sparks are flying into space

Get one last glimpse of the feelings on my face

I’m shutting them away from the rest of the world.
